Health is a journey, not a destination

We have become creatures of avoidance.  We avoid all of the knowledge that is prevelant regarding processed foods and what it does to they body.  The body is a live organism that needs live food to maintain normal function.  It is like putting dirty water into your oil tank.  The car may run, but it won’t go very far.  That is what is happening in today’s society in regards to food.  We hold false beliefs about the source of health and illness.  We are the source of our own health.  Before we treat the pandemic of health problems facing society, let’s first admit what is causing them.    Your health is a journey,  it is not a destination.

Most of us live far below our optimal health, fitness, perform, ance, longevity and potential.

My topic of my thesis for my PhD in Holistic Health was:  Compliance in the Alternative Health Field.  The conclusion is that as health care providers, it is our job to educate and hopefully be the catalyst that makes people change poor diet and exercise habits. It is not our job to make short term suggestions, but to instill the desire to avoid the foods and thoughts that are detrimental to our health. To make people realize that they are in charge of their own health.  Health is each person’s journey.  Let yours be full of energy, love and health.

The best,

  1. Great point Kim! I always was distant with the term “diet”… if you plan on losing weight or improving your stamina, there needs to be constant effort, not simply cutting a few snacks throughout the day.
